1st Half
Albert Standley gets the game underway kicking off into the Bengals half, an organised Eels defence quickly gets onto the Bengals attack and force them to an early kick which gets the Eels on attack just inside their own half, the Eels quickly move up the field with two strong runs from Emir Gunes & Bobby Taylor, putting the Eels in striking distance for their first try of the day, Charlie Riches receives the ball and powers over for the first 4 points of the day, George Reekie kicks the conversation giving the Eels an early 6-0 lead.
Bengals get us back underway and kick back to the Eels to get their attack back underway, the Eels 2nd try of the day soon comes, as the Eels work the ball through the hands nicely, moving the ball from the left hand side of the field to the right, finally hitting its last destination Jack Reynolds, Jack breaks the first tackle and disappears off up the line with pace to pop the ball down under the sticks, the resulting conversation is missed and the Eels remain 10-0 up.
Bengals kick deep to get us back underway, the ball goes back and forth between both teams for a while with no one capitalise on any possession, before Eels finally get it turned over deep in the Bengals half, two quick plays from the Eels gets them back on the score board, Jack Reynolds getting his 2nd of the day receiving it out on the wing going through the Bengals defence and popping it down under the sticks, George Reekie kicks the extra points and the Eels have a healthy 16-0 lead.
With the 1st half coming to an end the Bengals restart with a deep kick off, James Robinson takes the ball nicely and runs hard up the middle getting the Eels on the front foot quickly, Eels continue to move and work the ball up field until a nicely worked passing sequence gets Sonny Henson the ball in hand, Sonny hits the space in front of him and goes over for the Eels 4th try of the 1st half, resulting conversion is missed, but the Eels take a healthy 20-0 lead into halftime.
2nd Half
Bengals get the 2nd half underway and an early knock on from the Eels puts them under pressure, Bengals start the half brightly and have the Eels pinned deep in their half, some solid Eels defence holds the Bengals out, before the Eels give the ball back to the Bengals again, still the Eels defence refuses to be breached, holding the Bengals off from getting on the board, Eels finally get their hands on the ball and start to do something with it, Bobby Reynolds breaking tackles with a cleaver run and getting the Eels out of their own half for the first time in a while. The Eels should have capitalised on this attack but a unfortunate knock-on hands the ball back to Bromley deep in their own half. Eels quickly get the ball back after Bobby Reynolds gets the Bengals in touch, with the ball going back and forth again between the two team, the Eels finally break the 2nd half deadlock, a lovely over the shoulder take from James Robinson, followed by a strong run, gaining plenty of yards, sets the Eels up for an impressive bit of passing going through the hands, the ball passing through the hands of, Ollie Smith, Lennie Crane, George Reekie, Lucas White then into Jack Reynolds hands to score a wonderful team try, George Reekie kicks the conversion and a 26-0 lead to the Eels.
Bengals get us back underway with a perfectly taken kick off, with the ball bouncing just in play before bounce out, giving the Bengals the ball back 5 yards out from the Eels try line, the Eels defence holds strong again as they have all day and force a knock-on, Zach Mongan making his Eels debut after injury collects the ball 10/15 yards off his own try line and powers his way through tackles and up the field, shrugging off the final covering tackle to score his first try for the Eels, impressive full pitch run with pace and power, George Reekie slots over the conversion giving him a perfect day with his new boots, 32-0 to the Eels right before the final whistle goes giving the Eels the 3rd win from 3 in the London Junior League.
