Brentwood Eels v Rutlish Raiders 34-16

Eels started on the front foot forcing a mistake with quick line speed. From the resulting scum a strong first carry and quick ball let Joe Edwards touch down near the corner.

Another score followed soon after with a succession of good carries and on the fifth tackle passed out to Ben Chaplin to touch down.

From the restart Rutlish scored with an excellent solo effort from their winger outpacing everyone on the outside.

Eels regrouped and just before half time Josh Robson Groom touched down under the posts after good approach play. Converted.

HT 14-4

Starting as they did in the first half Eels completed five tackles making good ground leading to Rhys Cotter going over in the corner.

Straight from ko Rutlish replied with a strong run but with a few missed tackles from Eels letting them in near the posts, converted.

Eels came back stronger after a few strong words from Dan.

Another try from Josh after good hands from the backs.

Nathan Megran then finished off a move started by the excellent Joe Edwards carrying the ball some 60 metres. Converted.

More missed tackles from Eels led to another score for Rutlish before Femi Sanya made a strong run touching down under the posts for the last play of the game. Converted.

Final score 34-16

All credit must be given to Rutlish who arrived with only 13 players and fought until the end playing some superb rugby.

Eels managed to get through their tackles making good ground which ultimately won them the game.
