Brentwood Eels secured a hard-fought 22-12 win over Eastern Rhinos in a fiery all-Essex clash at Old Brentwoods, putting in a composed and disciplined performance to take local bragging rights.

The Eels came out with real intent, dominating early field position and converting pressure into points. Strong defensive efforts and improved discipline across the park laid the foundation, as the team executed their sets with greater control and purpose than in recent weeks.

The Rhinos, as expected, brought plenty of physicality and fight, but the Eels held their nerve and managed the game well—despite a few second-half errors giving the visitors chances to claw back.

The victory mirrors the earlier result from the Eels A team, who also beat the Rhinos by the exact same 22-12 scoreline earlier in the season—cementing Brentwood’s dominance across both senior sides in this year’s derby encounters.

With young players continuing to step up and the squad starting to gel at the right time, this was a deserved and encouraging performance that shows the momentum building within the group.
