A sunny day in Chiswick on Easter weekend was always going to be a tough ask against the back to back SCL Champions but the first half was shared on try a piece all be it for the last 10 minutes of the first half the hosts nabbed three tries after some poor discipline giving the hoists prime position which they usually take without thinking.
Halftime meant Hammersmith lead 18 to 4.
The first half started in a similar fashion both sides sharing a score a piece, then with the visiting Eels down to 0 interchanges due to injuries it was a make or break moment that in comparison to last year we would have capitulated but we actually took the game to the home side and spent the last 20 minutes with the majority of possession which caused the oppositions discipline count to mount leading to two sin bins. The Eels failed to capitalise on around 5/6 clear cut chances that could of made a wider dent in the scoreboard but hoists showed their class going the over end of the field to score. All was not other as Eels mounted enough pressure to nab a final score in the final minute of the game to make it a respectable scoreline.
