Opportunity missed on our season opener...

A slow start for the Eels as the referee chose to punish our first two penalties of the season with yellow cards (Tackling a player in goal / Ball Strip), playing 20 minutes against any side in Rugby League is hard but that along with some unforced errors it made the first half finish up 12-4 to Chargers.

Even though this wasn't the strongest Chargers side we have faced, the Second half couldn't half started any better for them with both kick offs resulting in tries due to some uncharacteristic turnstiles tackling from the eels. However, when we kept the ball we had no problem cutting through chargers defence and got the scores back to a respectful 24-14.

The last 15 was similar to the first with another sin bin not helping matters, this time fully deserved as the agression of trying to sway the momentum ended up in frustration and another three easy tries for chargers who in fairness showed their class in punishing some more basic errors.
