The Eels made the journey over to Maidstone for the return League fixture against the Panthers at the 'Jungle'. Some of these boys have played for many years and have a healthy respect for each other. Having lost at our home ground in a very close fixture earlier in the year our boys were determined to give a good account of themselves. It was great to see the team in the right frame of mind - particularly after the week before.

Our defence was superb with every player relishing the contact and preventing the Panthers from breaking the line. The first-half was relatively even with both sides trading tries. However the second-half was all Brentwood with the boys defence frustrating our opponents and preventing them from scoring. The most pleasing aspect about the fixture was that every substitution that we made had no impact on the side. I've always said the defence will win us games as the attack generally looks after itself and this match really proved it.
