With many of the boys unavailable and half the team coming straight from a school rugby fixture it was always going to be a tough ask. The plan for the day was just to go through our sets and ensure our new players got their hands on the ball. As we all expected playing two matches in such a short period of time was just too much and during the second half it was obvious that players were tiring. Without the luxury of been able to rotate players we did well to exert the amount of pressure we did. On a number of occasions we forced the Gunners back into their in-goal area with some really good attacking play and some smart kicking.

Our new boys Billy and Oscar did exceptionally well and Luca Valentini was rewarded with a try for all his efforts during the day. Fox and Horsman were great around the ruck and kicked exceptionally well with our forwards in Jowers, Duffy, Murphy, Mullens, Seears and Outen showing real promise. Out on the wing Richardson looked alert and was unlucky not to get a try after a great interception. Ollie Foreman also looked good playing at Hooker for the first time. Once the school rugby season is over we should start to see more of our players returning.
