Fresh from their recent victory in the 9's, the Eels took to the field against a very large Bromley side. As we have done all season we selected a mixed side as this year is all about development. However this is no excuse as Bromley really taught us a lesson in line speed and attacking play. Several mistakes early in the tackle count in our red zone saw Bromley score some relatively easy tries. As the game progressed it was clear that the constant tackling was having an impact, particularly as nearly every Bromley player was bigger than us. As the boys tired their structure and line speed suffered leading to more tries being conceded.

Owen Dew scored a nice try outpacing the scrambling Bromley defence which Horsman converted. Madden again performed well with Valentini tackling well. Horsman was his usual combative self and Dew continued his good form this year. It was also pleasing to see Tom M continue to improve and Max gaining confidence.

Whatever they feed the kids in Bromley can we have some!
